The independent ones
About this event
The Independent One is a heritage-and-purpose experience by The Bucketlist Community, running this October under the theme History | Tourism | Art, in celebration of Nigeria's Independence. Participants trace a trail through Kano's historical landmarks — beginning at the meeting point, Gidan Dan Hausa, moving on to Dala Hill, then Gidan Makama Museum, before arriving at the final "X" location, guessing their way to the finish. It's part city trail, part treasure hunt, blending history, tourism, and art into one immersive outing. Beyond the walk, the event carries a social cause: the "X" is reframed to mean "the prison" — a call for the free to sponsor the bonded, extending a second chance to those who've made mistakes. Sponsorships raised go toward supporting that cause.
